Paramedics Play Hockey for Local Charities
Monday February 19th, 2007

Ottawa - The Professional Paramedic Association of Ottawa is proud to announce that it will be hosting its Fourth Annual Paramedic Invitational Hockey Tournament on Wednesday February 21st and Thursday February 22nd .

The tournament will take place at the University of Ottawa and will run from 0800 to 1500 on both days.

Approximately 150 players from Ontario and Quebec will be participating in the 12-team event.

The money raised over the two days will be donated to the Sabastien Savage Foundation and the Professional Paramedic Association of Ottawa’ s H.E.L.P. fund.

The H.E.L.P Fund was recently established to aid local paramedics who have experienced a severe injury or illness. The Sebastien Savage Foundation aids the former Ottawa 67’s player who became paralysed from a fall into the boards during a University of Moncton hockey game.

“Our goal is to donate $3000 to the two charities,” says Denis Gagnon, tournament coordinator. Public donations can also be made through the OttawaParamedics.ca website.

The annual tournament is run by local paramedics with generous support from The Heart and Crown, Easton, Ballistik Hockey, The Zampub, Cam Atchison from Molson’s, Ontario Medical Supplies and North City Insurance.
